Brood XIII 2007 Early Emergence

Brood XIII 2007 Magicicada Early Emergence

Well, as previously posted, I'm finally sitting here in my hotel room on a late Sunday evening. I wanted to go out as soon as I arrived at Chicago's Midway Airport (which landed at 4:50 pm) to have a look around but unfortunately, I'm here to attend the American Association of Museum's Trade Show so my search for early Cicada emergences will have to be put on hold. The job comes first and cicadas will have to come second for now.

When we landed, there was a bit of a mix-up at Dollar Rent-A-Car that actually worked in my favor. I originally rented a Dodge Caliber which is supposed to be an economy car at a really great rate. Unfortunately my rental Caliber was rented by my boss so I got a free upgrade!! So now I'm cruising around in a brand new Dodge Avenger, candy-apple red. It looks really sweet and sounds like it has some power under the hood. The clincher is, I got it at the same rate as an economy rental!! Unfortunately though, this day, I had to use to settle into the hotel ie; iron my business clothes, make sure we were square to set up our booth at the trade show etc and now I'm pretty beat. However, check out the cool car images below:

Hopefully at the end of the first day of our trade show, I'll be able to go out and have a look around.

Willowbrook Il, where I am staying seems to be an ideal place. I'm pretty close to some public woods areas and after researching reports of early emergences I'm pretty close to some of them. Places like Downers Grove Il.

I'll keep everyone posted.
