Hi Beverly,
Thanks for reporting this cool sighting of a male cicada killer wasp in New Hampshire. You may not know this but sightings of these wasps in New Hampshire (or any New England state above Massachusetts) is exceedingly rare. In fact we only have two other positive sightings. If you look back through our Cicada Killer wasp sightings on this sight you will see that a lot of other wasps for New Hampshire are often mis-identified as cicada killer wasps.
Anyway, thanks for reporting your sighting.

I discovered a nest of these while moving my lawn the other day on Russell street in Manchester. Thanks to your website I was able to identify what species they are and finished mowing the lawn. They act very aggressive but are not at all. Glad I didn't spray them. They are quite big and scary if you don't know what they are.
