I photographed this cicada killer with prey last month in Grand Canyon Nat'l Park along the Colorado River.

Hi Mike

What an excellent photo! I believe the species of Cicada Killer is none other than Sphecius convallis. The cicada specimen I believe to be a female of the Diceroprocta genus. Perhaps D. semicincta. I base this on the white costal margins on the fore wings but I can't say for 100% without a dorsal view though Arizona is in the range for that species.
