Cicada Killer Wasps in Putnam, CT

My lawn hadn't been mown in over a week with all the thunderstorms we have been having in Connecticut so the grass was a wee bit long. I ran over a patch of dirt in my front lawn that wasn't there before and a few minutes later I was being chased by this monster. I found another one 15 minutes later that was just chilling and didn't bother me.

Hi and thanks for the photo. Well, it looks like some cicada killer wasps have decided to call your yard home. Don't be confused with the fact that the cicada killer was chasing you. It was probably just wondering what this thing was that disturbed it's burrow.

Cicada Killer wasps are extremely non-aggressive. Don't be surprised if next year you have more.
