Brood XIX in Moscow Mills, MO

Spent about an hour in the area. Heard thousands of M. tredecassinis. I didn't hear any M. neotredecims, nor did I see any during my hike. The trees are covered with cast-off skins.

Hi Bill,

You are correct this is your typical M. tredecassini. A female by the looks of it. I also call these "The Angry Cicada" because they are the loudest in my opinion of the four Brood XIX cicadas and they can make quite the racket!
