Hi Jon,

First let me say that we are always interested in receiving information about western species of cicadas so thanks very much.

I can tell you that this is a species of cicada from the genus "Okanagana" but not much else because additional photos would need to be supplied. This could possibly be Okanagana bella but that would be a best guess. Western species of Okanagana are numerous and are difficult to identify. It seems that this whole genus would eventually need to be re-workd along with another genus of cicadas known as "Diceroprocta".

At any rate thanks for sharing.

What type of additional photos would be needed? Maybe I can try to get more the next time I see one.
