Hi Sharon

What a nice photo of a Tibicen canicularis male cicada. These guys make that high-pitched sound in the trees in late summer. Kind of like a skill-saw on helium.

Did you have your porch light on last night? It may have been attracted to the light.

They are really harmless they don't even have the mouth parts to bite.
