The cicada was on the fence in our backyard. Was able to catch several stages of transformation.

Hi Laura,

Thanks very much for providing these cool photos of a Tibicen tibicen teneral. This species was formerly known as T. chloromerus.

The green eyes and large opercula (the large plates covering the abdomen) is indicative of this species. Also, since it has these large opercula, it is male. Female's opercula are a lot smaller.
