Hi Tyler,

Thanks for the cool photo. Yep, it sure looks like that cicada has been around for a while and it looks like something has gotten to it.

The wings and the head are missing but it is definitely a cicada. I can tell you that from the shape of the abdomen and the lack of timbal covers that this is a female and probably from the species Tibicen canicularis.
