Hi Josh

Thanks for the very cool photo of a Tibicen canicularis cicada. There is just enough image to note the abscense of male opercula which makes your specimen a female. There are not too many species of cicadas in Maine. I can think of three:

Okanagana rimosus
Okanagana canadensis
Tibicen canicularis

Of the 9 species of Tibicen cicadas in New England, Maine seems to only have this one. That can change of course especially in the extreme southern portions of Maine.
