North Carolina is home to the type locality for this species. They are not considered rare in NC and occur across several habitat types, but are infrequently encountered.

Hi Bill,

That is one really cool tiny cicada. I have often suspected that the range of these little cicadas may in fact be further and more wide spread than most people realize. I am still holding out hope that these little guys may in fact be found in preserved tall prairie grass areas here in New England.
