Hi Val
Thanks for the photos. This is the common species of annual cicadas we have
here in Massachusetts. This is a male Tibicen canicularis. Right now it is
in the form known as a "teneral", that's why it looks pink. It would've hung
around for a few hours in order to darken up and for its wings to harden for
flying.
