Back yard/garden shrub bed surrounded by coniferous/deciduous forest within 400 feet of Bow Lake.I disturbed it while weeding and was able to knock it down and put it in Refrigerator before photographing

Thanks for the cool photos of a T. canicularis cicada. This one is a female. You can see the ovipositor at the tip of the abdomen in your ventral view photo.

I too often chill cicadas in the fridge in order to get that perfect shot. Works wonders.
